HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001 — they appear on labels and websites without much explanation of what they actually require. Here is what the standards behind Al Tahooneh products mean, in plain terms.

HACCP: finding the points where things can go wrong

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. Rather than testing finished product and hoping problems show up, it works backwards: identify every point in production where a safety hazard could be introduced, then put a control and a monitoring step at each one.

At Al Tahooneh it is applied across processing, packaging, storage and distribution.

ISO 22000: food safety as a management system

Where HACCP covers the hazards, ISO 22000 covers the organisation around them. It requires risk assessment, traceability and continuous monitoring to be built into how the business is run, not bolted on. For an importer, it is the standard that says the controls are systematic rather than dependent on individuals.

ISO 9001: consistency, not just safety

ISO 9001 is a quality management standard rather than a food safety one. It addresses whether processes are documented, repeatable and improving over time — whether the product you receive next quarter will match the one you received this quarter.

Halal certification

Al Tahooneh chicken is halal certified, with slaughter carried out according to Shariah-compliant practice. Compliance with GSO 2055-2, the Gulf standard for halal food, is what allows the products to be accepted across GCC markets.

Jordanian standards

Locally, production follows JS 1334 and related poultry product codes, which cover hygiene, labelling, transport and shelf-life requirements, with regular audits by Jordanian authorities.

Where the feed fits in

Certifications govern how the chicken is produced, handled and documented. They do not by themselves describe what the birds were fed. That is a separate commitment: every Al Tahooneh chicken is raised on a 100% vegetable and grain diet, with no animal by-products and no animal fats, verified by batch analysis in the company’s own laboratory.

Together the two answer different questions — the certifications tell you the process is controlled, and the feed policy tells you what went into the bird.

See the full certification list, read about how the feed is tested, or contact the team about wholesale and export.

HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, halal and JS 1334 explained in plain terms – what each standard actually requires, and what none of them cover.

[12

post-4542","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.4 -
