Most poultry brands are assembled from suppliers: chicks from one company, feed from another, processing from a third. Al Tahooneh owns every stage. Here is what each one does, and why owning all of them changes what the company can promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cycle starts with 16 breeder farms across Azraq, Dhuleil, Khalidiya, Hallabat, Mushanshal and Saidiya, covering 250,000 square metres. These farms house the laying hens that produce hatching eggs. Chicks are examined from day one for bacterial and viral infection, then raised under the supervision of agricultural engineers and veterinarians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eggs are classified by type, age and fitness for hatching, rested for 48 hours, then sterilised and moved into incubators. Temperature and humidity are adjusted through the incubation period according to the requirements of the developing embryo. After incubation the eggs are vaccinated, then transferred to the hatchery for the final three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Healthy chicks are then selected and sent on to the farms. A portion is sold to farmers across Jordan, and the surplus is exported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the stage that decides what the birds actually eat. Three feed factories produce 40 tons per hour between them, supported by a premix factory and a soybean processing plant, drawing on grain silos that hold more than 100,000 tons of yellow corn, soybeans, soybean meal and premixes opposite the Zarqa Free Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The feed is built from yellow corn and soybean meal with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and nutritional supplements \u2014 a 100% vegetable and grain diet with no animal by-products and no animal fats, and free from antibiotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
20 broiler farms across roughly 250,000 square metres in Al-Tafih, Zarqa, Al-Hallabat and Mafraq Road produce approximately 140,000 chickens daily. The farms are closed houses with controlled temperature, ventilation, humidity and ammonia levels, cleaned and disinfected between batches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The slaughterhouse processes 12,000 birds per hour across buildings covering around 10,000 square metres. Production is monitored throughout the working period by technicians, engineers and veterinarians, with a quality control unit documenting procedures as the work flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Running alongside all of it is a central laboratory with four departments: feed analysis, microbiology, serology and immunology, and PCR. It monitors products across every production station and provides veterinary health supervision for the flocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When one company owns each link, a claim made at the end of the chain can be traced back through it. The feed claim is the clearest example: Al Tahooneh specifies the formulation, mills it, treats it, tests it and feeds it to birds it hatched itself. There is no supplier in the middle whose formulation has to be taken on trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
